Why is Exfoliating important?

Natural or Artificial Peeling?
Desquamation is a natural, energetic process that is influenced by the physiology of the body and by internal factors. For example, it is known that the lack of essential fatty acids in the diet, such as linoleic acid, causes skin dryness and scaly appearance (natural exfoliation is adversely affected).
Artificial exfoliation, on the other hand, describes an “invasive” process in which an individual can accelerate the elimination of dead skin cells using an appropriate exfoliation method. Artificial exfoliation works from outside to the inside, while natural exfoliation works from the inside out.
Artificial exfoliation is particularly useful for correcting the visible signs of slow, natural exfoliation, for example, blur and dull skin, but also for preventing unwanted conditions such as scarring.
Ways to exfoliate the skin
There are two main ways in which physical exfoliation can be accelerated.
- Mechanical exfoliation, ie by rubbing the dead skin cells. The products for mechanical exfoliation are mainly friction containing microspheres of various materials such as milled shells and seeds of various fruits (almonds, walnuts, etc.), sugar or salt crystals, pumice stone, etc.

How often should I exfoliate?
Frequency depends on the needs of your skin, how heavy it feels, whether or not you have clogged pores and the composition of the exfoliating product you are using. In general terms, applying a scrubbing product once a week is sufficient. In difficult cases, where the skin is usually oily, the process should be repeated twice a week. After applying the exfoliating product, the skin is “open” and exposed to external factors. A peeling process dries the skin to a certain degree, so applying moisturizing cream is essential.
